The kingdom of Tonga lies on the Pacific Ring of Fire where natural disasters such as earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanoes, floods, and cyclone happen quite often. Apart from these natural disasters, there are also some man-made hazards like fire, oilspill and many more.
These hazards can become disasters and can have severe effects on social and economic performance in the Kingdom of Tonga. The National Emergency Management Office in cooperation with other disaster management partners and stakeholders is advocating on best disaster management paractices in the country to reduce the impacts of these hazards.
